A high-low adapter acts as the link between a car stereo with speaker outputs (high-level) and an amplifier with RCA inputs (low-level). It converts the signal, allowing car stereos that lack RCA outputs?and feature only speaker outputs?to be connected to an amplifier. When is a high-low adapter needed? Whenever a car stereo without an RCA output needs to be connected to an amplifier. How is the high-low adapter connected? The car stereo's speaker outputs are connected to the corresponding wires on the high-low adapter.
